The Shortridge cooking club, run by Cathy McElroy, a longtime Shortridge community member, was busy during this past week, preparing a delectable batch of Sushi. Cole Langston, a sophomore here at Shortridge, helped teach the students how to prepare three different kinds of Sushi: California rolls, shrimp rolls and spicy tuna rolls.
They also made ate some japanes snacks, and drank an aloe vera drink flavored with grape, lychee and mango. Beyond this, they also worked on their chopstick skills (it’s rather hard to eat sushi with a fork).
If you’re interested in the cooking club, look out for their sign up sheet in the hallway outside the enterance. Be sure to sign up early for their next meal, there is alwatys limited space.
